We believe that learning and growing in our faith begins at birth, and never ends! During the school year (September through early June), we offer the following opportunities:
Children's Chapel and Sunday School - during the school year, children ages 3 through fifth grade meet in the Parish House at 9:30 AM for songs, games, crafts, and a worship time with the Rector. At 10:00 AM the children move to their Sunday School classes and return to their parents at Announcement Time during the service.
Middle School program - students in grades 6 through 8 gather for conversation at 9:30 AM before their 10 AM class; they join their families before the Great Thanksgiving (after the sermon).
Shoreline East Episcopal Youth Association - is a youth group for students in grades 6-12 offering overnight retreats, service activities and fun! Bowling and pizza, anyone?
We use the "Weaving God's Promises" Episcopal curriculum, which is a scope and sequence format set of lesson plans. Sunday School lessons typically include Bible lessons, arts and crafts, games, singing and more fun! We currently have eleven volunteer teachers; parents and care-givers are always welcome to participate and support this vital ministry. Your child is welcome to join Sunday School or our youth groups at any point during the school year.
Young Adult program - students in grades 9 through 12 meet at 9:30 AM for a 45- minute class and join the service in time for the sermon.
Adult Bible Study - happens at 9:30 AM on Thursday mornings. A Rectory Forum gathers at 9 AM on Sunday mornings (in between the 8 AM and 10 AM services) for topical discussions and, occasionally, to "Stump the Rector." In the early fall, in Lent and Eastertide, folks gather on Tuesday evenings for supper and conversation around a selected book or video. All of these groups meet in the Rectory.
